Continental Star Table tennis club
Continental Star Table Tennis Club actively promotes participation across society including supporting: women and girls, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minority communities and people from socially excluded communities. We acknowledge that different ethnic minority communities exist, and that people from these communities will have different opportunities to take part in sport. We openly encourage membership from ALL communities to play Table Tennis here as we believe that it will have a positive impact on people’s lives.
Table tennis is a diverse and dynamic sport that transforms lives, connects communities, achieves excellence and inspires fitness and ambition. It is also used by other sports people to relax whilst sharpening their fine motor skills.
There are no age limits to playing table tennis. It is a great sport for developing and maintaining a person’s hand & eye co-ordination.
Table tennis is one of the few sports that lends itself nicely to any gender as a persons physicality is not an essential attribute in order to play.
The head coach is Steve Bertie. He has over 30 years experience of playing at the top level, including being: Birmingham, Warwickshire and Wolverhampton Champion. He has also regularly competed at national level and has won the Birmingham Premier League 7 Times.
We work hard to create a friendly, family atmosphere that enables us to engage with people from diverse ethnic backgrounds and communities; people with disabilities are encouraged here more than other clubs around the city.
Birmingham and District Table Tennis League: Premier Division, Division 3 and Division 4.
