Covid 19 Risk Assessment

Hazard

If you have symptoms you must not access the facilities, attend any training, friendly or league matches.

Control measures

The symptoms are as follows:

  • High temperature
  • A new and continuous cough
  • Tiredness and aches which may be connected to the above.
  • Loss of or change in normal sense of taste or smell.
  • Feeling generally unwell.

If someone in your household is displaying these symptoms or is self-isolating you MUST NOT attend any friendly or formal match and inform your coach.

Track & Trace

All

High

  • All coaches must collect/have the names and contact details of the attendees/players/coaches at each training session, friendly or league match. This information will be kept on supplied forms provided by Continental Star FC.
  • Only the coach should record this information where no signatures are necessary from the players/others to prevent double handling of pens and paper.
  • The records of attendees will be kept for a minimum of 21 days in line with GDPR
  • The opposition must also collect the name and contact numbers on the day of the match of their players and coaches for track and trace purposes.
  • Coaches will ensure the names and contact details of the match officials are recorded which will be kept secured again for a minimum of 21 days.
  • Bar staff/others not related to playing football however may attend friendly or league match fixtures will also be expected to provide their details for track and trace purposes.

Catching /Spreading Covid-19

Volunteers/staff, players, officials, public

  • Hand sanitisers available on arrival
  • Away team encouraged to arrive changed
  • Doors kept open to allow for good ventilation
  • Avoid congregating in the corridors

If you’re feeling sick or become unwell:

All

  • If coaches, players (or those identified at risk as above) feel ill they must leave the facilities or match immediately and start the household isolation if relevant.
  • The club must ensure that the player has the ability to contact a parent/carer before they leave the facilities ensuing they can get home safely where appropriate.
  • Do not attend the facilities, friendly or league match if anyone in your household is showing any symptoms.

  • Players should bring their own water bottle clearly labelled. They must not share these with anyone else.
  • Communal water bottles are not to be used.
  • Players should arrive already changed where possible and bring spare clothes to travel home.

Changing rooms

  • The changing rooms for training will not be permitted to be used.
  • The changing rooms will be made available to the away although they will be encouraged to arrive changed where possible.  Changing rooms will be used for the least amount of time as possible and use of the showers will be discouraged.

Treatment of injuries

  • If a player/other is injured the first aid should respond only with others keeping their social distance unless emergency care/first aid assistance is required.
  • Adequate personal protective equipment is provided which contains: face visor, gloves and face mask for use if they need to compromise social distancing guidelines to provide medical assistance.

  • Footballs should not be frequently handled during the friendly or match.
  • If a ball goes out of play it should not be retrieved by non-participants and should be retrieved using the feet rather than the hands where possible. Where there are breaks in the game and if throw-ins or handling has occurred then the ball should be disinfected at the earliest time.

  • Match officials should observe The FA’s guidelines and therefore are not exempt to the content of this risks assessment i.e. sanitize hands, provide track and trace information, keep social distance etc.
